ABS-CBN News Channel or better known as ANC is the Philippines first 24-hour news channel broadcasting both in cable television domestically and in satellite television internationally via The Filipino Channel, owned and operated by the ABS-CBN Corporation under its ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs brand. Most if not all of its news and current affairs programs are primarily in English language.
History
It was first known as the "Sarimanok News Network" or "SNN during its establishment on July 10, 1996, making it the first of its kind in the Philippine television. Since then, ABS-CBN News Channel has been the source for news coverage of Filipinos worldwide. The channel was also praised as it is one of the pioneers of citizen journalism in the country by incorporating the use of social media in its programs. ANC is one of the country's most followed news organization on Twitter and Facebook. [1]
ABS-CBN News Channel now works in collaboration with four of the most formidable broadsheets in the country, including BusinessWorld, Business Mirror, The Philippine Star, and Philippine Daily Inquirer for a better and more reliable relaying of news and information to the people.
